Full Description: Succulent species cristata variety Euphorbia lactea-Crested in its un-crested natural form is an erect shrub growing up to 12' to 15' tall, with succulent branches 1-1/4" inches to 2" inch diameter, ridged, with a triangular or rhombic cross-section; the ridges are spiny, with short spines up to 1/4" inch long. The leaves are minute, and turn deciduous.

This crested variety grows very compact with many dark green short, swirling, twisting somewhat fan shaped multi-branched stems that emerge from a main stem, almost no spines. Mature specimens average 12" tall by 15" wide on average but older specimens can be slightly larger.

More Info : Euphorbia Lactea is used medicinally in India. Euphorbia Lactea is widely grown as an ornamental plant, both in the tropics, and as a houseplant in temperate regions. A number of cultivars have been selected for ornamental use, notably this 'Cristata' or 'Crested' form with many frilled edge branching.

Caution : Like most Euphorbia species Euphorbia Lactea-crested has poisonous milky sap that should be handled with care. The milky latex is poisonous and particularly dangerous for the eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Care : Likes heat and grows very well as a houseplant. Water well in summer months when in full active growth, sparingly in winter months. Semi-rich porous good draining soil mix. Needs bright like but part shade if grown outdoors. Can get leaf burn in summer if exposed to full sun.
