|Full Description: Succulent species cristata variety Euphorbia lactea-Crested in its un-crested natural form is an erect shrub growing up to 12' to 15' tall, with succulent branches 1-1/4" inches to 2" inch diameter, ridged, with a triangular or rhombic cross-section; the ridges are spiny, with short spines up to 1/4" inch long. The leaves are minute, and turn deciduous.
This crested variety grows very compact with many dark green short, swirling, twisting somewhat fan shaped multi-branched stems that emerge from a main stem, almost no spines. Mature specimens average 12" tall by 15" wide on average but older specimens can be slightly larger.

Native To-Species form uncrested India and other tropical Asian locations but primarily in India. This crested cultivar is believed to be nursery originated.
More Info : Euphorbia Lactea is used medicinally in India. Euphorbia Lactea is widely grown as an ornamental plant, both in the tropics, and as a houseplant in temperate regions. A number of cultivars have been selected for ornamental use, notably this 'Cristata' or 'Crested' form with many frilled edge branching.
Caution : Like most Euphorbia species Euphorbia Lactea-crested has poisonous milky sap that should be handled with care. The milky latex is poisonous and particularly dangerous for the eyes, skin and mucous membranes. Handle with care and wash off immediately any sap if it comes in contact of eyes, skin and mucous membranes.
Care : Likes heat and grows very well as a houseplant. Water well in summer months when in full active growth, sparingly in winter months. Semi-rich porous good draining soil mix. Needs bright like but part shade if grown outdoors. Can get leaf burn in summer if exposed to full sun. A tropical plant Euphorbia Lactea can not handle prolonged periods below 32 degrees and might get stem damage below 40 degrees, give protection in winter or grow indoors.
