|Full Description: Cactus species Echinocereus pectinatus Has a shinny pink to light purple 4" diameter bloom, petals are whitish near base with a greenish stamen in center. Profuse blooming in warm season. Stem growth has multi-colored bands, so its commonly referred to as the "Rainbow Cactus" due to these colored bands in its stem growth. Stem growth is semi globular to cylindrical, 16-30 radial spines white or pinkish, short but spreading widely, pectinate, and intertwining with those of the other areoles often in colored bands.

Echinocereus pectinatus var. saltilloenis and Echinocactus pectiniferus.
Common Name(s): Comb Hedgehog Cactus, Lace Cactus, Purple Candle Cactus, Rainbow Cactus.
Native habitat : Ranges from Chihuahua, Coahuila de Zaragoza, Sonora in Mexico to Arizona, New Mexico and Texas in the United States (North America).
Notes : Blooms are day blooming and can last many days but close each evening reopening in the daylight the next morning. Flowers of Echinocereus pectinatus can be various colors of Pink, Purple, Red and Yellow in its native habitat. Profuse bloomer, easy to care for.
