My Wal-Mart Finds

Postby KimsKactus » Tue Mar 29, 2011 1:56 pm

I could hardly believe it but our Wal-Mart had some rhipsalidopsis this year!
I nearly fainted!
They were on $4.88 too!
I couldn't leave them there as I'm "right in love with rhips".

Here is the pink:

This one is kind of reddish with fuschia type highlights:

I have them right in my bedroom so when I wake in the morning they are there to start my day out right :love_bloom:

If you see them, grab them.
My local store sold out of 60 in less than 3 days.

I have some updated pictures of these that I will post. I was able to get some shots of them open this past weekend. I just LOVE the reddish one as it has beautiufl puple edges.
I hope you are all able to find some at Wal-Mart.
I started this winter with 3 NOIDS and I now have 32 *lol*.

How great is that ??? Too bad they were so spendy !! I better check the local W-M starting in late February. Their garden centers often have plants that turn out to have been repotted into larger pots so they can charge more. I usually knock them out of their containers before buying - it's very disappointing to find a 2" root ball surrounded by "filler" in a 6" pot !! Craig

BEAUTIFUL. The only thing I bring home is lots of those pesky little gnats or whatever they are.

I hit 4 area Wally's Worlds yesterday and today to do some recon !! One inner city one had 10 zygos in hanging baskets for 10.88 - no idea what they were as no flowers. 2 others had lots of indoor plants but nothing we're interested in and the 4th had nothing, period. I did stop at a Lowe's and was VERY impressed with their selection of indoor plants of all sizes. Might be another store to check upon occasion - HD as well. Keep us posted when you guys see something. These plants may well be regional in nature in terms of what they order. Craig

I've found some at our Lowes but not many and all are unnamed. Last time I was there I told the cashier they were drowning the pour little things. Cactus sitting in bowls of water! :(

About a month ago, the gal in charge of the indoor garden center at my local W-M told me she'll start getting Spring plants on Feb 27th !! She has no idea what to expect until it arrives so the time is approaching !! Craig
