Oncidium (on·cid·i·um) Orchid forum

is a genus that contains about 330 species of orchids. The genus Oncidium is a very old one. It ranges from hot coastal regions to the cold of 12,000 feet elevation. It is native to Mexico, Central and tropical South America, and the West Indies.

It has short, thick pseudobulbs and slender, graceful leaves.

Though the flowers are small compared to the Cattleya, they are a spray-type of considerable grace and charm. The blooms are flat, of silky texture, resembling a dancing girl with wide-spread skirts and tiny waist.

The clear bright yellow attained by some of the species is unsurpassed. An intermediate or cool climate and filtered sunlight.

    Oncidium Unknown or NOID section
Post your unknown Oncidium(s) here, other members who have the same plant can recognize and maybe ID it for you. At the least maybe give you a few leads to follow up on. With many Oncidium species & hybrids, and growing it can get confusing.

Note; Besides the term UNKNOWN or UNK for short NOID is also commonly used which means NO IDENTIFICATION OR NO ID. If posting here descriptions are great! But pictures are best. Not sure how to attach pictures? Just ask many of the friendly Epi Cacti Forum members here they will be happy to help you! Or PM one of the forum moderators.
Other members who have the same Dendrobium plant can hopefully recognize and maybe ID it for you.
