Full Description: Species Rhipsalis monacantha Syn. Lepismium monacanthum Has numerous very tiny 1/4" to 5/8" fiery orange blooms in spring, blooms appear like there not real but instead made of wax. After blooming the fruit/seed pods appear which are small pink colored seed pods or berries abot 1/4" to 1/2" in diameter on average.

Also a jungle cacti-Epiphyte simular in growing culture to Epiphyllums, Rhipsalis monacantha takes simular care- part shade, a rich soil mix that also drains well, needs to be kept above freezing 50 degrees in cold winter locations to prevent stem damage, ideal summer growing temps are 70-90 degrees. The stems are flat or can occasionally be ribbed with many spines along the stem edges. Rhipsalis monacantha can be grown in a hanging basket simular to Epis or Epiphyllums. Native to South America-Brazil and Argentina it would commonly be found in it's native habit growing in the crooks of tree branches above the jungle floor.
