|Full Description: Echinopsis hybrid 'OBERON' Has a 4" (11cm) diameter bloom in dark satiny magenta with a red midrib. Throat-circle pinkish-purple. Filaments dark magenta with strongly contrasting cream-colored anthers. Stigma exserted, green. Stem growth is semi columnar in form. Hybridized by Bob Schick.|
Notes : good grower, pupper or offset producer & bloomer. Overall coloration is almost a solid purple, reddish to orangish mid rib is often very faint, most often only noticed on tips of outer petals if at all.
More Info. : Named after Oberon who was the king of the fairies in Shakespeare's A Midsummer-night's Dream. Oberon (also spelled Auberon) is a king of the fairies in medieval and Renaissance literature. He is best known as a character in William Shakespeare's play A Midsummer Night's Dream, in which he is Consort to Titania, Queen of the Fairies.
