Full Description: Hildewintera hybrid 'Moors Violet' has a 2" to 2-1/2"+ diameter bloom with inner petals colored an intense dark cerise with a narrow mid stripe of dark orange, short inner petals, pinched petals with a pointed tip. Outer petals are longer than inners, tapered to a point, recurving, orange colored with dark cerise edges. Stamens are magenta to cerise colored, magenta anthers, stigma is cream to light yellow.
A cross of Hildewintera hybrid 'Helms Neue' X Akersia roseiflora. Hybridized by Andre Houthoofd.
Growth : Stem growth is light to dark green colored, averages 1-1/2" diameter, multi-ribbed, cylindrical type growth, pendant in growth form, spines are short and yellow to golden colored on new growth later turning brownish giving the overall stem growth a brownish color.
Notes : This hybrid is often mis-spelled as 'MOORS VIOLETT' and as 'MOORS VIOLETA'. Smaller diameter blooms for this variety but the blooms are numerous, profuse bloomer! often has deep vibrant almost dark red bloom coloring with vivid dark cerise, spectacular bloom displays!
