Full Description: Trichocereus hybrid 'MALIBU' Has a 5" to 6"+ diameter bloom with a wide golden-orange mid stripe on inner petals and light to dark cerise-rose on petal edges. Next 2 rows are golden-orange to burnt orange, narrow edge dark cerise to red colored. Outer petals are dark orange to red. Anthers and filaments are cream colored. Red pistil with a cream colored stigma. Hybridized by Rolf Autenrieth.
Growth : Dark to light green sturdy columnar growth. Stem growth averages 4-1/2" to 6"+ diameter by 3'+ ft. tall. Clean stem growth with individual stems dark to light green colored, averaging 11 to 13 ribs with very short spines almost spineless. White cotton on aerioles.
Notes : Nice sized multi-colored bloom. Short time to maturity as this variety blooms easily, blooms consecutively in the warm season once it reaches 12"+ in height. Probably suitable for ground planting in frost free locations as a very hearty grower, but we have not experimented ground planting this variety yet.
