Full Description: Schlumbergera Hybrid 'LADY LINDA' Has from a light red to pink/lavender bloom depending on temps during budding with lighter tones on inside of petals and throat. Stamen is red with pink pistol, white style and white to off white anthers. Usually red buds that will change to lavender/pink a few days before opening. Good sized bloom.
NOTES; This variety is decendant of the schlumbergera Queen hybrids. A hybrid crossed with schlumbergera orssichiana discovered in 1978 by countess Orssich. She named all of here crosses S.Xreginae (reginae is latin for Queen). S.O. X S.Truncata So it tends to be much larger in flower than the truncata crosses, but can bloom at different times. It can bloom multiple times a year instead of just the holidays. Hybridized by crossing X Schlumbergera orssichiana with S.Truncata 'Lavender Doll'. Blooms early October in Northern hemishere usually and 2 months thereafter. Colors can be more rose-red/magenta overlayed on pink/lavender depending on temps during budding. You will not find any of the queens in most nurseries since there blooms although larger are unreliable in color and blooming time so most commercial growers dont bother since may not bloom when most marketable in the holidays. So mostly only in private collections.
Offered as 6-8" multi-branched cuttings, see the Schlumbergera growing page for more details |
