Full Description: Hildewintera hybrid 'Chiemgau Blut' has smaller blooms averaging 1" to 1-1/4"+ in diameter once mature on stems 12" or longer it will bloom profusely with dark red semi-glossy color blooms like red lipstick, petals on this variety tend to completely re-curve right after the blooms open so they resemble large red buttons, sort of unusually from most Hildewintera blooms with even the inner petals re curving. Stamens are red, anthers purplish, pistil is reddish with a cream to off-white colored stigma. A profuse bloomer! Beautiful red blooms, large plants with long pendant growth will waterfall straight down a hanging basket for a spectacular display when in bloom!
Growth : Vigorous grower, heavy pupper, typically producing offshoots/new stems from the base on its own. Individual stem growth is dark to light green even yellowish in bright light, averaging 1" to 1-1/4"+ in diameter, multi-ribbed, cylindrical. Spines are brownish to rust colored. Pendant in growth form, a nice pendant/waterfall like growth habit is obtained once stems reach 12"+ in or more length.
Notes : Bloom appear dark red, semi-glossy with the naked eye, but with a camera flash or with sun light shinning threw the petals, some dark orange mid stripping and purple-cerise tones are revealed. Colors tones can vary with care; fertilizer, water & light given.
