|Full Description: Cactus species Carnegiea gigantea Commonly called Saguaro Cactus they are native to the desert areas of Arizona, California, USA and Sonora desert of Northern Mexico. Saguaros can have a long life span of up to 150 years old and reaching 40 ft. to 60 ft. in hieght and up to 10ft in diameter including the branching over time. It can take several years of growth before getting a side arm. The flowers are night blooming white and yellow, they appear April through June and the fruit which is dark red/ruby colored matures by late June. The Saguaro's flower is also the official state flower of Arizona. |
Very low water requirements as Saguaros will absorb any water it receives by swelling of the trunk in winter and then slowely use the water as needed in warmer/dry summer months.
The Saguaros offered here were germinated from seed and are container grown in 5 gallon containers. Very easy to grow with very low maintenance requirements. They have very long neddles when young but tend to fall off with age.
