Full Description: Echinopsis hybrid 'Bilsdale Flame' has a 4" to 4-1/2" diameter bloom with inner petals dark orange and slightly lighter orange to apricot on inner parts of petal, pencil thin light purple mid rib, narrow, pointed petals.Next 2 rows same but longer petals and back petals same coloration but slightly shorter. The stamens and anthers are light yellow to creme colored and do not form a circle, instead the stamens and anthers are like a starburst and scattered around loose and irregular. Stigma is light yellow to creme colored and short. Pistil is purplish-orange but so short barely even seen. A Harry Johnson hybrid-(Paramount).
Notes : Depending on care, sunlight, fertilizer, temps during bud formation etc. this hybrid tends to always bloom dark orange as its base color, but the lighter orange to apricot colors and purple mid stripe can widen and be more pronounced on different bloom sets due to factors mentioned above.
A bright colored bloom, like a flame as the name suggests, profuse bloomer, compact stem growth.
